Carshalton website design

A design and building company in Surrey contacted our website designers Carshalton as they wanted to get their business on the web and to have an online presence which they were previously lacking. They contacted us as they had viewed our portfolio and really liked some of the construction websites we have previously built.

They did not have a brief as such but wanted the following for their website:

• 3 pages – which included homepage, gallery and contact page
• 1 email address
• Large images of work that they have undertaken
• Be able to add testimonials from clients across Surrey
• And they wanted to feature accreditation logos

No preference was given to the software platform, so we opted to use WordPress as it would give our Carshalton client the option to manage the site themselves if they wanted to.

Websites built for building firms in Surrey

We were supplied with the domain name and added it to our UK based cloud hosting servers ready to start the build. We completed the following for this building company:

• Installed WordPress and uploaded a theme which was chosen by this Surrey-based firm
• Added their company logo
• Used the same red colouring to match the logo colour
• Added text about the company and the building services they offer on the homepage
• Uploaded all images supplied and showcased them on the homepage with a fancy border
• Installed a portfolio plugin to manage the “gallery” section of the site
• We uploaded all the images of finished building work, brickwork, interior construction and decoration to this page.
• We then integrated the portfolio plugin so when an image is clicked to enlarge, it is opened up in a lightbox which then offers visitors the ability to click through to the next image, so they are able to view the whole gallery without having to click each individual image at a time.
• The contact us page was given a simple layout with an enquiry submission form with name and email details. All contact information was added including the owner’s mobile numbers, office telephone number, email and office address.
• We also added a Google map to show Rose Hindle’s office location and a link to their Twitter page and checaktrade page, so visitors can view their great feedback.

Rose Hindle is a small building and design business in Surrey with over 40 years’ experience who offer a large selection of specialised services from loft conversions, house extensions, garden and exterior landscaping, interior renovations, bathroom installs and kitchen refurbishments. Each build or design they take on is worked on by highly skilled and fully trained, insured staff members.
