Web Design in Burgess Hill

We were contacted by a large Vacuum components company based in East Sussex who were interested in our website design Burgess Hill packages.

They were looking to upgrade their existing website as they felt the site was lacking in certain features and wanted these to be implemented on their new site.

Below is a brief overview of what they required:

  • An eCommerce store that customers could add products to their cart to get a quotation.
  • The ability to have 1000’s of product pages
  • Unlimited category pages
  • Responsive throughout
  • Downloadable technical specs in PDF
  • Currency converter from pounds into euro

After a telephone conference with Lewvac we agreed the best way forward was to use WordPress for the CMS side of things and then the WooCommerce        plugin to take care of the store front and shopping / quote request part of the site.

The design process of this eCommerce store:

This was going to be a lengthy project for our website design Burgess Hill team as Lewvac had thousands upon thousands of products to add and within those products were sub products and parts, they also had hundreds of categories that needed to be created.

  • We added the site to our demo server to ensure there was no down time for the current site and we implemented the following works:
  • We firstly installed WordPress and the WooCommerce plugin
  • We then added all content including images and text to the main static pages
  • We also integrated a search facility so that anything from a part number to a partial word can bring up search results
  • Clear contact details and a sales submission form was also added

We then got stuck in to creating all the product categories with assistance from Lewvac, most of the main categories have 3 sub categories within the layout, so we had to ensure everything was in its correct place.

When it came to adding the products, we agreed with Lewvac that we would add 10 products for them and then train members of their staff to continue adding the products themselves, they wanted to be able to do this going forward and felt that because they knew their own products so well it would be easier in the long run. On each product page it featured the following:

  • Product title of the part
  • Images of the components
  • A table listing the different parts including product code, description, price, add to cart button and a downloadable PDF and STP
  • There is a technical spec section where there is a product description, features and specifications.

We also ensured all pages were SEO friendly and installed Yoast SEO so they could work on the search engine optimisation side of things themselves which they requested. The site was also built responsive and compatible with all mobile devices.

Lewvac worked hard to add all their products and once completed requested we switch the site over to the live domain on our hosting.

Their website was added to a larger dedicated server rather than a cloud server as this would have just slowed the site down due to its size.

Lewvac are manufacturers and suppliers of vacuum components across the UK and globally from their office in East Sussex. They offer high quality products and great prices, the range of components and parts are immense, and the detailed technical information supplied with each part is thorough.
